Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope you were able to enjoy a relaxing and fun Memorial Day weekend. We are down to just over two weeks left in this very unique and challenging school year, looking forward to a time of reflection and renewal over the summer break. Reopening Schools Survey
Kindergarten through seventh grade parents, please remember to take the survey sent to you last Friday that will provide us the important feedback we need to plan possible scenarios for reopening schools in August. It may be helpful to refer to the letter sent with the survey that gives more context before completing the survey. As I receive more guidance from Marin Health and Human Services over the summer on requirements for reopening schools safely, I will share that information with you. Our decisions on the final reopening plan will be guided and based on the most current information at the time and informed by the stakeholder feedback that we are receiving from parents and teachers via the survey. Summer iPad Loan Agreement As we move into the final weeks of the school year, we are completing the web page for the optional independent learning program that you may want your child to engage in periodically over the summer months. If you have not yet responded to the 2020 Summer iPad Loan Program Agreement via Actionaly to keep your child’s district issued iPad over the summer, please do so today. While we have created this learning resource for families to utilize it is also important to recognize the exhaustion that many of us feel as a result of entering the third month of Shelter in Place Orders, even though some restrictions are being gradually lifted. Children, like adults, need to take time to just relax and enjoy some unstructured time so it is important to balance free time with participating in extended learning experiences. Warm regards, Nancy Lynch, Ed.D. Superintendent Reed Union School District Comments are closed.
