Dear Parents and Guardians, I would like to express my gratitude for your tremendous efforts in partnering with our teachers to help our students continue learning while at home. I hope our elementary students are enjoying their first specialist day today which focuses solely on the programs they usually experience throughout the week. The entire day is filled with the arts, physical education and Spanish, and I enjoyed checking out the fun activities planned for the students in these areas. I am very grateful for the parental support through the Foundation for Reed Schools which enables our students to have these opportunities to expand their interests in these important programs.
Calling All Students! I need your help in sharing good news stories that we can post on our RUSD website and Instagram. Please send Ms. Simontacchi (our webmaster extraordinaire) pictures and stories (with your parent's permission) that show new things you have learned while sheltering in place at home. We are experiencing really strange times that none of us could have imagined. During this new and challenging period, there are positive things that come out of this experience. Have you learned to do something that you didn’t know how to do before, such as a game, skill or talent? I know one student who learned how to do their own laundry! Are you and your family helping others in some way while keeping your required physical distance? Is your family doing new things together that you have never done before? Please send stories about what you are doing so we can share this good news with our community. Thank you for helping me in this important project! Note: Ms. Simontacchi will double check for parent approval before we post. Shelter in Place Tip Sheet: I’d like to thank family therapist, Noah Kempler for sharing these recommendations for parents to better cope with the shelter in place order. Best regards, Nancy Lynch, Ed.D. Comments are closed.
